The New Castle Police Department has a Uniform Division, an Investigations Division, and a Records Division. The Uniform Division receives training in accident and traffic investigations, first-responder and/or first-aid and CPR training, firearms, chemical test operators, criminal investigations, and canine handling. The Records Division processes reports, runs criminal history checks, collects fees, and processes gun permits.
